Julia and Kevin // Hampton Court, UK

I first met Julia and Kevin way back in 2007 when they contacted me for a couple shoot in Cape Town. Julia is a professional athlete and Kevin also super-sporty and they are such a down-to-earth, relaxed and fun couple. When Julia asked if I would come out to London for their wedding I didn't have to think twice.

There wedding was held at the Little Banqueting House at Hampton Court Palace and was what Julia described as a 'glorified tea party'. Wine, tea, canapes and a glorious apple strudel were enjoyed by their guests accompanied to some live music. Before this, they ran The Park Run around Bushey Park with some friends and family and also did some British Military Fitness - definitely a first for me on a wedding day!

I hear a lot of lovely readings at weddings (hello 1 Corinthians 13 and Dr Seuss) but the reading by Kevin's brother during their ceremony was so beautiful and lovely:

“Let your boat of life be light, packed with only what you need - a homely home and simple pleasures, one or two friends, worth the name, someone to love and someone to love you, a cat, a dog, and a pipe or two, enough to eat and enough to wear, and a little more than enough to drink; for thirst is a dangerous thing. ” (from Three Men in a Boat by Jerome K Jerome.)

    Hi Julia and Kevin!
The pictures look fabulous. I have to admit I am not used to seeing Julia in formal clothing, but she does look good :-). I wish you the best in marriage. I am sure you will have a life filled with adventure and happiness.
    Your friend,
    Joseph Kibur
